Hi everyone. Nugget here. Sometimes I just speak too soon. After my last posting we got my test results and my potassium was still high so the vet boosted me to 2 pills a day instead of one. Almost immediately I got sick again. We quickly cut back to 1 1/2 pills and the vet gave me some other medicine too (prednisone) Mom and dad gave me the icky pink stuff again and I was too tired to fight it, it did make me feel a bit better too so I just took it. Once again Im back to my old self and hopefully things will be normal from here on out.
Im now going up and down stairs all on my own. The other night mom and I went up to bed and I heard dad in the kitchen making snacks for the sugargliders so I came down to investigate. Mom was looking for me and suddenly dad sees me. He hollered to mom that she forgot to take me up to bed and she hollers that he is very funny for coming to steal me like that. Eventually they both realized I got there all on my own. They were very happy, but now Im not getting free rides anymore, bummer.
Mom had to go away for the weekend so I got to hang with dad. When mom's not around he's alright and we have fun, but I dont have much use for him when she is home. Still he does give good scritches and he's alright to hang out with for an afternoon nap on the sofa.

Hi everyone. Nugget here. Sorry for the delay in posting, been pretty busy here.
And mom and dad went on vacation and Im not allowed on the computer when they
aren't around. I swear you go visit www.poodleporn.com one time and suddenly
you are under scruitiny (ed note: not a real website, I think, but I'm not
responsible for results if you try this at home). Sooo whats been going
on here. Well Im feeling much better. My potassium levels are still a bit high
so dad and the vets keep working to balance that out.
Right before vacation mom and dad had a new person at the house. Her name was
Jessica, she's dad's daughter. Everyone kept telling her to be careful around
me because Im nippy and chihuahua's aren't always good with kids. Well, I'm
insulted, how dare they think I would be mean. So to prove them wrong I made
her my best buddy and we hung out together alot. She was cool.
While mom and dad were gone a nice lady named Linda and her husband John (also
nice) came by to take care of me and the siblings. They are really nice people
and we had a good time together, but I was happy when mom and dad got home just
'cause I missed them.
Overall I guess I've come into my own here, I'm settling into a routine and
I love to play with mom and dad alot. Dad is especially fun, aside from eating
his toes whenever the opportunity arises I like to chase his hands and play
fight with him. Mom was shocked when dad and I were play fighting an it was
getting pretty rough so dad called a time out to calm down and I came and gave
him kisses on his face. Kisses are usually reserved for mom, but I wanted to
make sure he knew I was just playing and we were having fun. So now I spend
time obsessing between mom and dad, they are both cool, but I think I still
like mom best. I also like to tear apart sponges....I don't know why, but its
very satisfying. The folks are a bit perplexed that I like to play with feet
and sponges but I won't play with regular toys. Dad even got me a squeeky toy
that looks like a foot, but I know the real thing and a fake, Im not buyin it.
Ricky likes it though so I let him play with it. Jaq tries to play with me every
once in awhile, but its just a bit too scary and I think he may just see me
as a squeeky toy so I steer clear. Sometimes JC the cat and I play together
too. Sister Lucy is always very curious as to what I'm doing and sometimes when
I playfight with dad she butts in to stop it because she doesn't want dad to
get hurt (she really likes him) but he tells her its ok and she just keeps a
close eye on us.
The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity but the results are great,
Im in a home I like, Im feeling better and overall things are just great :)

Hi Everyone. Nugget here. Did you know I take requests? Thats right, just sent me an email at nugget@jimthwaite.com and feel free to ask me any questions about me, my life or quantum physics and I will be happy to answer right here. I got a great email from my friends at the AWA today reminding me to stop in and visit sometime. I will have to bug dad to drive me down there soon, I would like to say hi to everyone now that Im feeling better. They also asked me to let them and all my readers know a little more about how I'm getting along with my myriad of siblings so I will take a moment to update my status on that front.
Jaq - The big monster dog. Generally we get along, mostly I don't think he sees me from way up there still. But sometimes he does see me and he occasionally even tries to play with me but his paws are bigger than my head so mom worries he might hurt me without meaning too. Still we find it fun for me to run between his legs and get him all twisted around and confused.
Ricky - my partner in crime. Just the other day he stole a piece of my girl Jessica's toast then ran around with it to distract her while I grabbed another piece for myself. Overall we share a common interest, FOOOOD! But we never fight about it, come dinner time we keep to our own food then try to scam whatever we can later from everyone else. We have learned that mom and dad can be shared and most nights we try to play bookends on mom. Its loads of fun.
Lucy - She likes to make sure Im not hurting daddy when we are play fighting, other than that she and I get along great but she's pretty low key so we don't do much together. When she has energy she likes to make sure she uses it to play with mom and dad, so most of the rest of the time we just meet in passing and I try not to disturb her naps.
Whinnie - Typical antisocial cat, but she has good food that I sometimes figure out how to sneak.
JC - Very different cat, he likes to play with me sometimes and I like it too since he is the only thing here around my size so its fun. He bats at my feet and I dance around in circles its loads of fun. Dad says he is the interspecies goodwill ambassador as he loves the birds too (and not as a snack)
Birds - dont know what to make of them, we generally steer clear of each other. Dad is very protective of them so I'm generally not allowed very close when they are outside their dens.
Sugargliders - only seen them a few times, interesting but overall not very exciting. I really dont know why brother Ricky gets soooooo excited about them.
Well, thats pretty much the update on me and the siblings, overall we are getting along just fine, no fights. I have really settled into my own here and it feels good. We all feel like family and it's a very good feeling.
I should also point out to those who only look at the diary for updates that on the My Siblings page, I have been adding links to webpages with more info about some of my siblings. So far just Lucy and Jaq have finished theirs (Ok, I had to help Jaq, but you will see why) but there will be more to come soon.

Hi Everyone. Nugget here. Good News! My latest test results came back and everything looks good. We had still been fighting to get my potassium levels down but now everything is just right. So my magic number is 2 pills a day, or .2mg of Florinef. Dad is happy, mom is happy....I want a snack.
Dad was out in his shop all day yesterday. Its not attached to the house so whenever mom would take me outside I wanted to go over there to see what he was up to. He kept sending me away, said he was afraid something might squish me or I would get into some bad chemicals. I think he's just trying to hoarde all the fun stuff for himself, sure looked interesting in there. Otherwise not too much new to report, my life continues to be good, good food, good family, good friends. Oh and I learned that if I wake mom up early on a weekend to go outside and then complain about going back in my den she is too tired to argue so I get to sleep in the bed with mom and dad for a bit, that was fun. Although neither of them thought it was fun when I wanted to play "chew the fingers" while they were sleeping. And noone warned me that Winnie the cat plays a game with mom and dad she calls "chase the mystery lump under the blanket" usually the mystery lump is mom and dad's feet, neither one of us were too happy to find it was me this time. Not sure who was more surprised by the ordeal, but it was kind of fun.

Hi everyone. Nugget here. Just thought I would take a minute to tell everyone all is well. Not a terrible lot new or different to report. Life has been going well though. I've been working hard at establishing my role as protector of the house. The other day the UPS man came by and I had to bite at his ankles until he left. Chased his truck the whole way down the driveway. And that neighbor guy, still got to keep an eye on him, I make sure to give him a few good barks whenever I see him. Although the other day I got a bit carried away and was barking at him in his own yard so I guess I was in the wrong there....still whats in my line of sight is my responsibility to protect.
Mom has gone back to her old job as a meeting planner. She doesnt get home as early any more so dad gets home to let me out and feed me dinner. She seems happier though, the job at the vet made her sad, sometimes because of seeing all the sick animals and sometimes because it was just hard to deal with the people there who were more concerned with the money than with actually taking care of animals. We all know mom is in it for the animals....or I woulda been gone long ago...dad says Im a money sink...but he likes me anyway. For the record my Vet is the Blackwood Animal Hospital, that IS NOT where mom worked and we love the folks at Blackwood because they do care about the animals and give us the absolute best care.
Well as this page is running long and the month is drawing to a close I think I will start a new page on my next visit. I'll try to keep them by month now so its easier to pick up where we left off. I'll break the links down on the front page to make it easier to find a new page.

I just wanted to send a quick shout out to my new friends Cindy and Abby. Abby is a Rat Terrier with Addisons just like me. Her mom Cindy has her situation well under control so she is living the good life as well. Cindy and Abby sent me an email to say hi....have I mentioned I LOVE GETTING EMAIL :) To that end I have decided I would like to start a friends gallery so send me your emails and photos and I will be happy to add you :) I'll even let cats in the gallery....cats are ok I guess...my cats are pretty cool at least.
Oh, and because they tell me confession is good for the soul...dad was trying to play with me last night and we were having a great time when suddenly I was just overcome by agression and tore into his finger pretty badly. He was none too happy and mom thinks its infected....sorry dad :(
