Ricky's Realm |
Hi there, I'm Ricky and this is my....umm...let's see what did dad put up there...realm. Hmmm, that sounds rather sinister...and hold it! Whats with the dang devil dogs in the background....very funny dad. C'mon folks, look at that picture, I'm sweet, I'm innocent. Yeah......right. Ok, so dad says I am pure steaming evil at most points. What can I say, I'm strong willed. Argue with me will ya? I will whizz on your shoes while staring you in the face. Yep, I know it's wrong, I know I'm going to be punished but for this brief moment as you stare as me in disbelief while I soil your sneakers I WIN! But all things considered I'm much improved over when I started with mom and dad. In fact dad keeps reminding mom of that when Nugget misbehaves.
So anyway, I'm a MinPin...and no just because I weigh 25lbs I should not be referred to as a MaxPin. I'm sensitive about my weight, actually I'm just perterbed I have to eat diet food. It's not nearly as tasty as the other stuff. As the story goes mom and dad had just got Lucy and they wanted a MinPin. Dad saw my photo on Petfinder when I was in a shelter in Pennsylvania. He called the shelter but they said I was already gone, no more information. Then he saw my photo on the Internet Miniature Pinscer Rescue Society's page. He called them and they confirmed that I was indeed the same dog. Mom and dad went to visit me at my foster home where I was living with 10 other minpins. I thought my chances were ruined when one of my foster siblings promptly sat on dad's lap and pee'd on him. But they gave me a chance anyway. At first I was grumbly, grumpy and sometimes a bitey. I didn't take well to housebreaking but I was good with my crate. Its been over 3 years now and I'm much better although dad doesnt get happy when I am very barky. I love to run outside and announce my presence to the world.
Despite all his complaining I think dad likes me. We are nap buddies. As soon as he gets on the sofa Im snuggling up next to him (or on him) to instigate a nap. Sometimes he uses this to his advantage when mom wants him to do something. He tells her he can't move because he is MinPinned. He has an odd sense of humor.
My AWA friends may remember me from the benifit walk this spring. Mom and dad brought me and Lucy and Jaq out for the walk (Nugget wasn't with us yet) but I was riding in my little red wagon because I had lyme disease and my joints hurt too much to walk. I'm happy to report I'm much better now.
Well, I don't have much else to say for now, I will have to get more photos from mom, she says I'm very photogenic so she has alot of pictures of me.
